Trump Campaign Announces October Rally in Omar’s District

President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign announced Thursday a “Keep America Great rally” scheduled for October 10 at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.

“Minnesota is booming thanks to President Trump and jobs are coming back to the state. Since President Trump’s election, Minnesota has added 54,500 jobs including 3,000 new manufacturing jobs, while President Obama lost 5,200 manufacturing jobs,” said Michael Glassner, chief operating officer of Donald J. Trump for President. “President Trump has delivered on his promises, and he looks forward to celebrating those successes with the great men and women of Minnesota.”

The rally will mark President Trump’s fourth visit to the state in the last 16 months. Minnesota Republican Party Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan said she’s “overjoyed” to welcome the president back to Minnesota.

“Trump has spent his first term fighting for Minnesota families and for this country. He has fulfilled his campaign promises to get our economy booming again, put America first, and has made this country great again,” she said in a press release. “We are excited for the rally on October 10 and look forward to showing the Democrats how enthusiastic Minnesota Republicans are to send our 10 electoral votes to re-elect President Trump in 2020.”

Minnesota DFL Chairman Ken Martin said in response that he’s “confident Minnesota voters will continue to reject Donald Trump’s destructive agenda and divisive presidency.”

“Donald Trump has spent his presidency pursuing a trade war that’s devastating Minnesota farmers and a tax scam that gives breaks to the rich and powerful, paid for by cutting health care from Minnesota families,” Martin claimed. “Trump’s record as a failed president was solidified long before he came under investigation for allegedly pressuring a foreign government to interfere in our election.”

The October 10 rally will be held at the Target Center, located in the heart of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s district.

“Our beautiful state welcomes everyone with open arms,” Omar wrote on Twitter. “But to be clear: we will continue to reject you and your campaign of lies and bigotry.”
